With the commutation of this sentence from death to life a heavy load is lifted from upon me. It is not that the weight ever rested upon my shoulders. Rather it was more like a ball of negativity eating me up from inside - something one would wish to just pound but cannot.

With this Texas decision this escalation of injustice has been averted, mainly due to the sheer goodwill of those who not only spoke out but acted on his behalf. He has a tomorrow to look forward to… but the story is far from over as Texas has more executions lined up.

Until the death penalty gets relegated to the dustbin of history Texas in particular shall remain a stain upon the planet in this respect. The commutation of this sentence does provide hope for the future however.
