In the ‘Of Quality‘ fragment it was explained that Quality is a scale or measure rather than an end in itself. Yet how does one define the parameters by which one recognizes qualities of quality?

It should be clarified that within the context of the word “qualities” one considers each “quality” to be a parameter by which a unit is assessed qualitatively (the English language can be a tad bit ambiguous but it is rich also 9_9).

Throughout history individuals have asked the question to themselves of what reality really is. Of course these same individuals then launch into a series of other similarly confounding questions but let us pause here. What is reality? When one knocks upon the surface of a table… is that reality? When one turns on the television… is that reality? When one snuggles with a loved one… is that reality?

When individuals perceive the happenings (events) and the relative constants (substance) of the world around them, they know that they perceive something other than a nothingness. In that perception one therefore comes to the deduction that one’s perceptions are fragments of what one could term reality.

“Quality”… It is a term that has claimed prominence throughout the world of technology, business and consumerism. Hardly a day goes by where one is not offered a ‘guarantee of quality’ or ‘quality service’ or products made ‘to standards of quality’. So often is the word used that its cousin term Quantity is seeing indirect competition within what is supposed to be its realm.

Yet what is the true meaning of Quality? Is it a wondrous plateau of achievement to aim for? Is it a term of prestige and class that may be obtained? In order to understand the true meaning of Quality perhaps it is best to consider the meaning of Quantity.
