In “of being wrong and accepting it” it was explained that through disempowering the element in human nature that hinders us from accepting a probable failing in one’s beliefs or viewpoints one would hence be able to set upon improving such failings.

It is well-worth the mention that it is not commonly the case that such perceivedly errant views are errant through and through. It is far more common for elements within such views to be flawed, hence making it potentially worth salvaging the rest of the stricken concept.

Through identifying the faltering points of one’s viewpoint one can alter or replace such points with a view for improvement. If, for example, one tries unsuccessfully to change a bulb with a traditional ladder as it wont stay upright, and another individual uses a step stool to successfully change the bulb with much difficulty, such does not necessarily mean that one has to throw away the idea of a ladder for a foot stool. Rather one could adapt one’s preference of a ladder with the added benefit of the step stool’s stability to come up with a step ladder, changing the bulb with much greater ease than even a step stool. One kept the advantage of height but recognized the competition’s decisive advantage in stability - In setting aside one’s pride while not setting aside one’s self-respect (a very important point to emphasize here) one was able to not merely take up the more practical step stool while throwing away the concept of the ladder but was able to improve one’s concept of the ladder into something even better.

Of course, it is sometimes necessary to discard entire segments of beliefs in the absence of any perceivable way of self-improvement. Such is still a step towards self-improvement and one becomes stronger through the exercise of this process.

Hence one’s wrong concepts develop into better or good concepts and not only the self but everybody with a broad perspective stands to benefit from such, the attitude being mutually progressive with no honour lost.
