With the commutation of this sentence from death to life a heavy load is lifted from upon me. It is not that the weight ever rested upon my shoulders. Rather it was more like a ball of negativity eating me up from inside - something one would wish to just pound but cannot.

In following up with my previous sentimental feelings on the approaching execution of Kenneth Foster I cannot help but lose a little faith in humanity - certainly less faith within the segment of humanity invested within the state of Texas.

It is curious how pointers appear when one feels that direction is lacking. This time the pointer came in the form of news that a person is set to be executed this 30th of August for driving a friend away from the scene of a murder.

It appears that Texas came to this stunningly brilliant (and yes, I am being sarcastic) judgement in light of a ‘law of parties’ which can effectively tie individuals in for penalties for crimes that they do not actually commit.
