The entirety of the Beginner+ guide is preparation for this mode, but here is the mode-centric, abridged version.

In Solos, you play the role of a SuperAnimal taking part in the solo Royale.

In this mode it is every SuperAnimal for themself, and the ultimate aim is to be the last one standing.

At the beginning of the match you find yourself riding a giant eagle across the map of Super Animal World.

Pressing the ‘M’ key by default opens up the map (you can access this in the pre-match lobby also – helpful for planning ahead) and you can use this to decide where along the eagle’s journey you would like to jump out.

Pressing the ‘E’ key by default has your SuperAnimal exit the eagle in a graceful glide, clutching to an umbrella, and you can move around.

Pressing the ‘E’ key, stows the umbrella, and sends your SuperAnimal hurtling towards the ground. Re-pressing the ‘E’ key brings the umbrella out to slow your descent – unless you’re too late in which case your SuperAnimal splats into the ground and is stunned for a few seconds.

Once on the ground it will be your first priority to find equipment with which to improve your chances of furvival – I mean survival. To this end you will find weapons, armours, throwables, upgrades – maybe an emu or hamster ball – and where you land can have a significant impact on what resources you may find.

Shortly after landing you will be notified of a front of skunk gas set to sweep in upon the island and, besides picking up stuff (using the ‘E’ key by default) and fending off other players (and looting any that you slay in the process), you will also be notified of higher rarity drop events where industrious moles deliver their supply crates of goods.

You begin with 63 opponents. If you survive for long enough then there will be just one more and, as the skunk gas sweeps to engulf all, one of you shall fall.

‘Next’ we’ll be looking at Duos and Squads.
