Light Automatic Class Weapons:

That which defines a light automatic:

  • It features fully automatic action. Hold fire to fire.
  • It has a reasonably sized ammunition clip.
  • It makes use of little bullets ammunition.
  • Its fire rate and its theoretical damage per second is high, particularly up-close.
  • It has decent range but significant damage drop-off over range.
  • Both of these qualities improve with weapon rarity level.

The SMG, is a lower rarity automatic weapon that fires a steady and rapid stream of bullets from its twenty five bullet clip. Like pistols, this weapon performs better at closer quarters and does less well at mid and long range.

The Thomas gun is a higher rarity variant with a larger clip size and better overall performance at range. This has a longer reload, a wider recoil, and movement is slower while firing the weapon, but that larger clip size feels good.

A further thing to point out about automatic weapons is that they will seem to consume ammunition more freely than their non-automatic counterparts. This can be more of a consideration in non Royale modes.
